Clari Ribeiro
A director, film editor, and visual artist. A partner at the independent production company Excesso Filmes, they premiered their latest short film If I'm Here It Is By Mystery at IFFR 2024, a work that explores the genres of fantasy, suspense, and science fiction. In 2021, they received the Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival for their performance in A Wild Patience Has Taken Me Here (Éri Sarmet, 2021), a film they also edited. That same year, Clari directed and edited Desire Power-House Against the Industry of Fear, an interactive fiction with three alternate endings.
In their films, Clari experiments with cinematic languages and genres, creating delirious universes and fabulous characters. In 2024, Clari received the Best Editing Award at the 26th Kinoarte Film Festival for the film Vollúpya.
